Mommy Moments: Look at that Mess!

For this week's theme, I had quite a difficulty looking for the 'messy' pictures. of my kids It was only then that I realized that I rarely take candid shots of them. My shots are usually the posed, prim and proper kind. Yes, I even take a few seconds of my time arranging my kids hair before any photo shoot. heheh! So, I guess, I'll have to take more of the candid and natural shots huh?

Anyways, enough of babbling for me.. here is the single messy shot of my li'l girl.. My girl with her messy hair. She was so engrossed with her painting that she didn't care that he rhair is covering her face- a mark of a real artist eh? ;)

Another Trip to the Dentist

As mentioned in my other blog, our li'l girl was very brave when she went to the dentist last week. She sat at the dental chair for an hour to have her teeth cleaned and filled. She was only in tears during the time when the dentist seemed to have pressed the filling in her tooth so hard, which she claimed was very painful. But her ordeal is not over yet, we have another dentist appointment for her 2 weeks from now.

I just hope and pray that she'll be brave again and be okay to go to the dentist especially after knowing what to expect in that dental chair. We can actually have our dental appointments together since I also need to have my teeth checked. I think she'll be more comforted with that setting, knowing that she won't be alone. Yes, I need to go and visit the dentist too. I've heard that their dentists here in Malaysia are quite good too. I'm not sure though if they're good like the famous Los Angeles Dentist who's also a prosthodontist. You might be wondering what's a prosthodontist. A prosthodontist is a dentist who specializes in prosthodontics, the specialty of implant, esthetic and reconstructive dentistry or what we may like to call as cosmetic dentistry.

Word Filled Wednesday - Fishers of Men

'Come follow me', Jesus said, ' and I will make you fishers of men.' Mark 1:17

This verse reminds me of what God intends us to be, "Fishers of men". May our hearts not be hardened but continually have that burden for the lost...

The New Pool, Swimsuits and More

The kids have a new inflatable pool given by their uncle and aunty and they're so happy! Actually, we've already been planning to buy a small pool for the kids, but somehow we're waiting for the price to lower down a bit since we find it a bit expensive. But thanks to my sis and bro in law who bought it for them. It must be another answered prayer of our li'l girl.

So, the other day we let our daughter and son try out the pool and they were just so excited. Our li'l boy has been splashing, jumping and doing all the stunts. He and our daughter love the water so much. This made me want to take them swimming in the real pool. If we take our kids to the pool , then we the parents must swim too, right.

This led me to wonder if there are still swimsuits that can fit me. LOL! And I'm glad to know that, YES! there are fashionable Plus size swimwear that can fit any mom of 2 kids. I've just finished browsing a site online and I was inspired by the beautiful bathing suits available in that site.

Then, I guess, our next family activity would be SWIMMING in the pool!

Mommy Moments- First Step

I was not really able to document my kids' first steps but for our li'l boy I was able to capture the first time he was able to bring himself up in the crib. He was only 6 months old then. It was quite amusing how he struggled to stand up with knees shaking but he finally achieved his 'goal' and had the proud look on his face. Here it is:

Still in the kneeling position

With knees shaking, he's trying to push himself up

Almost in a standing position

Finally! He stood up! Whew!!

And for the final shot!.. The proud 6 month old boy..

The Golden Girls

Here is a photo of my Mom and her best friend aunty Clem. I can't help but be amazed by their friendship. My Mom has actually posted about this in her blog. But one thing that I admire with them is that God has blessed them with strength and good health that even if they are already in their late sixties but they don't look like one. Their secret? I'm not sure whether they're using the Best Wrinkle Cream there is, but I can assure you that their uttermost secret for such joy and youthfulness is because they are assured of the Love from our heavenly Father in their hearts.

Thank God for the Healing!

I've posted in my other blog that my Li'l girl was sick last Sunday morning. She actually had a high fever and I can't help but be worried of so many things. I was already afraid that it might be H1N1 But I just laid my hands and prayed for her.

On Sunday, my kids and I didn't go to church as Tricia was still a bit hot. So, Hubby had to go to church alone as he was asked to share during the service. In the afternoon, Tricia was already better and was playing with her Attais. Praise God for her fever went off fast. Praise God that it wasn't what I feared it would be.

Tricia's back to normal now and we even went to the dentist this morning to have her tooth filled.

Again, I thank God for the healing..and thank you to all my friends and family who prayed for her too!

Watch From Afar

We've always been telling our li'l girl and boy to watch TV from afar. You see, when they get too excited watching their favorite cartoons and dancing with their music, they tend to sing and dance and go so near the TV. As what my Mom used to tell me when I was young, watching TV so near might spoil my eyes. So, that's what I tell my kids too. I don't want them to wear eyeglasses at an early age. But if they do, I make sure that they get good quality eyeglasses for a cheap price like those from Zenni Optical. They've got $ 8 Rx eyeglasses . This online shop has become so famous that they even see Zenni Optical on TV!!! . So, the give a High Five to Zenni Optical !

Just plain running and chasing each other at the field.

When they seem bored and cranky at home.. then we let them play in the playpen or playground.

Of 5-6 and Credit and Debt Consolidation

I have a story to tell.

In the Philippines, the Punjabi Indians are known to have a finance business which Filipinos call as 5-6. This basically means, they lend you 5 and you pay them 6. So, for example if you borrow 500 pesos then you have to pay them back 600 pesos. And because of this business, the "Indians" ( whether they may be Punjabi's or not, or whether they are in the finance business or not) are generally thought of to be in this business.

So several years back when my Hubby (still single at that time and my classmate in the training) was in the Philippines, he went to the Cogon Market with a friend. He just wanted to see the market and that's why he decided to tag along. But then, he was surprised that people were looking at him differently and he thought maybe it's just because he looks different. And then, he heard someone called him and said, " 5-6! 5-6!". He never had an idea what that guy was saying and he just thought that maybe he's talking about his height. Then, my Hubby said, " No! I'm 5-4! 5-4' and went away. He never got to see the reaction of the people. But it was only then he knew about 5'6 when he went back to the center. The people must have thought that his 'deal' is better because he's offering them 5-4 and not 5-6. Hehehe!!

Anyways, money lending is just so common in the Philippines and a lot of these borrowers just get so caught up with their loans and credit card debt that they feel stuck when they reach their very limit. A lot of us also don't know anything much about debt consolidation. If only they know how to manage their money well or maybe get a debt consolidation loans, then maybe their financial burdens will be eased up a bit.

So, anyone wants 5-4?

Thankful Thursday 20

Thursday is actually one of my awaited day in the blogosphere because it'll be a time for me to think, recollect what has happened in the past week and thank God for it.

Thank God for this meme because we could really make a point to enumerate and list our thanksgiving to God and be able to meet like minded people and be encouraged too. Everytime I go through other bloggers' post, I can't help but be inspired and encouraged. :)

Here's my list for this week:

I thank God for ..

1) ... the blessed weekend that has passed - we went to Ipoh, met our friends, ate good food and most especially, we were blessed as we spoke in the church.

2) ... the daily protection as we travel in and out.. Almost everyday, we see accidents happen on the road and we can't just help but praise God for keeping us and our kids from harm.

3).. for my li'l 5 year old girl who has learned to pray and intercede for the ' other children in the world'. Last night, she prayed for the Rohingya children.

4).. for my li'l boy who's healthy and strong and doesn't seem to get hurt even if he falls. Is he made of iron or what?? ;)

5).. for my Hubby, who's one of a kind.. I'm just blessed!

What are you thankful for today? Join us every Thursday.. just click on the badge above for more details.

Cartoons for Weekends Only

My li'l girl is so fond of watching cartoons. Even if there are several cartoon channels in Astro, but I've just limited her to watch Playhouse Disney since I've found some inappropriate languages for kids in Disney Channel, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.

Anyways, she's just so into cartoons that once she's watching TV it's like she's transported to another world. There's no need for her to watch in a home theater system as she's already always so engrossed with cartoons. And because of this, I've been trying to limit her cartoon watching and we might decide once again to limit her cartoons every weekend. We used to have this rule when we were in Thailand " Cartoon watching only for weekends" but it didn't seem to work when we went to the Philippines. It's more challenging though if we don't let her watch during the weekdays because then we have to create a lot of activities for her so that she won't get bored. But anyways, we'll have to try out, it'll be good for her too.

And by the way, as I've mentioned about Home Theater systems, if you're living in San Diego, Home Theater Systems San Diego can be your one stop resource for everything about Home theater system in San Diego.

Word-Filled Wednesday - Wait

Habakkuk 2:3

"For the revelation awaits an appointed time;....
Though it linger, wait for it;
it will certainly come and will not delay"

This has been my assurance of God's promises... though it linger, I will wait for it.. It will certainly come and will not delay.

Mommy Moments - Pouting Face

mommy moments

The theme for this week's Mommy Moments is a cute one but I found it a bit difficult to search through a perfect pouting face photo. So, this is the best that I could dig from my 'treasure box' of photos. I'm not even sure if it could 'pass' as a pouting face.

This is my son's reaction, when we let him eat mashed potatoes at around 6 months. He didn't like it at all.

Just a blank stare...

For more 'real' pouting faces.. visit other Mommy Entries from Mommy Journey.

I Wear My Sunglasses at Night

Sunglasses are used to protect the eyes from the sun but nowadays, wearing them is more of a trend. I've seen some of the youths wearing sunglasses even during the night and inside the malls! :) I for one, like to wear sunglasses but I normally go for the cheaper, unbranded ones. The type of sunglasses being sold at the night market. Good for me since I have good eye sight and therefore can wear any type of sunglasses but I don't wear them at night though.

For those who are wearing prescriptive eyeglasses, they can't just wear a normal sunglasses but they need to have a special prescriptive sunglasses. Well, I've found a site that sells a variety of prescriptive glasses and sunglasses. It's a cool site and you can even virtually try on your new pair. Check it out!

Thankful Thursday 19

Another wonderful week has passed and I'm thankful to God for everything that He has done. Here's my Thankful list for the week.

I thank God for ...

1) .. a delightful 'girl's day out' with my 5 year old girl. We watched Ice Age 3 in the theater and we had fun!

2) .. the repair of our car. Our alternator has been broken and that explained the fast consumption of gas and battery. Thank God everything's okay and back to normal now.

3) .. bedtime stories, baby talks, cuddles, kisses and hugs

4) .. evening drives around town

5) .. online blessings.. friends, paid posts and keeping in touch with the world.

All about Free Credit Report

I've just browsed through a site that is all about free credit report. It's actually my first time to know about this service and I was quite amazed as how this is important especially in the US. Imagine, in 2003 a Federal law was pass in the US as an amendment to the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The act allows consumers to request and obtain a free credit report once every twelve months from each of the three nationwide consumer credit reporting companies (Equifax, Experian and TransUnion).

Anyways, back to the site I've just browsed through, they also offer free credit reports, Credit Scores and Protection. This site also offers tips and guidelines to protect identity theft. Oh, I admit, I'm really quite ignorant to all these things and don't know a lot of its terms, benefits and uses. But I think it's also a good sign and it means that we're not really counting much on credits and loans. As I've mentioned in one of my previous post, it's our desire to be debt free and just live on the resources we have. We are learning a lot on this area and it's indeed a stretching part on our faith, discipline and self control.

Word Filled Wednesday 2

We have a great assurance that it's always God's purposes that will prevail in our lives.. God's purposes are truly the BEST and I don't want anything less....

On Buying A Domain

I bought another custom domain and this time it's for my travel blog. The process of buying a domain is really easy, I mean the paying part. You just need to follow the instructions, key in your credit card number and woolah.. you've already bought yourself a domain. That's one great convenience with internet payment now. It's a good thing that my Mom and my sis gave me supplementary credit cards which made my online purchases ( domains and air tickets) possible. I've also heard that of the Prepaid Visa Mastercard offered by Netspend. These reloadable debit cards are very easy to get and one of the most convenient way of paying and can be used to pay online too. Imagine, if you have a prepaid card, then you don't have to worry about payment for your next month's bill. I actually like the concept of a debit card better than a credit card. It allows you to spend and live within your budget without much temptation to 'overspend' on the month's allocation. If I have a prepaid Visa or Mastercard, then I can use it for my online purchases instead of using the credit card.

Mommy Moments- Encounter with Animals

mommy momentsAlign Center

I love this week's theme, because my li'l girl loves animals from goats, to bunnies to ponies. But it's a pity that I don't have a single picture of my li'l boy with a pet yet. Anyways, here are some of my li'l girl's precious moments with animals.

Taken when she was still 3 years old. We went to an Ostrich Farm at Port Dickson, Malaysia. This was the first time she cuddled a Bunny and rode a Pony. After the ride, she wanted us to buy a Bunny and a Pony..;)

Taken at Songklha Zoo, Thailand

This is our neighbor's white goat in the Philippines. We were walking to our house when she begged me to touch and feed the goat. She was 4 years and a half here.

Then, the most recent picture was taken a month ago here in Taiping Zoo, Malaysia. She's with her cousing Timothy.

Help For Those in Recovery

A friend has been introduced to my Hubby. He just needed someone to talk to since he can't open up with his family. He said, he wants to be 'out' from his addiction but he can't do it by himself. My Hubby talked to him about going to a Christian Rehab Center. He was a bit hesistant at first and finally he agreed. Then, he packed his bags and got ready. They all travelled to the center which was an hour from the town, but the center couldn't accept him just yet because he has a record in the government that he has to clean up. They're currently processing his documents now, but meanwhile, he's out and still struggling...

We're praying that indeed this man can be out of his addiction. He needs help.. He needs a support group and most of all he needs God to deliver him.

I'm reminded of this man, after I saw a social networking site that caters to those people who seeks recovery. It's indeed good for people who are seeking recovery or needs recovery to have a support group who can truly understand their inner struggles and share their experiences on how they have overcome those struggles. This site is called In the Room. This site currently has a database which consists of the most current Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Gamblers Anonymous (GA) meetings and Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings. So, those in recovery can just join the InTheRooms Meetings . Now, that's a social networking site that can make a difference!

Earning Through Blogging

This post is a Sponsored Post by Payperpost

As many of you might know, I'm earning through my blogs by writing paid posts. I never thought that earning though my blog would really work well for me, but it does! It has been more than a year now since I've monetized my blog and I thank God for the extra income that has come through it.

So, if you're interested to earn through your blog, let me introduce you to a new version of PPP or Pay Per Post called PayPerPost v4.0. There are certain things that I like about PPP v4 and they are the following.

- Instant blog approval. So, there's no more anxiously waiting if your blog is approved or not.
- No need to always be on the lookout of opportunities and refresh your browsers endlessly to grab a task. The tasks 'goes' to you. So, you just have to wait for an email from them or check their site whether you've got an offer or not.
- 3 Days to accept their task offers and complete it. There's no need to hurry and beat that 6 hours deadline to finish your post.

The only drawback about this new system is that you have to wait for your earnings to reach 50$ before you can withdraw it through Paypal. But, if it's a sister company of PPP, then for sure there'll be a lot of offers from advertisers, right? Hmm.. I surely hope so.

Then, what are you waiting for? Visit the PPP v4 site now and have yourself registered.

2 Seconds Answer to Prayer

I had a prayer deep within my heart... but when I uttered this prayer that has been lodged deep inside, God answered it in 2 seconds flat.. Amazing! Can't just help but be amazed of the way God cares for His children.. it's not more on the ANWERS of our prayers but it's more on the thought that God indeed cares for HIs very own and He shows it to us..that makes me cry and be amazed with our Loving Father..
